So many wonderful memories of Uncle Bill I will treasure forever, from family outings and get togethers and all the love and support throughout the years. One memory that comes to mind is that of Uncle Bill enjoying and being fascinated in the duck race held at Hubbards Hills in Louth, more so than his young grandsons were! Oh and of course that 'Trolley Walley' night! Xxx

Dear Bill,
is it really ten years, since I was invited to your party?
I had just met Amanda, and she told me I had been invited to her 'Uncle Bill's Party', and I would get to meet all 'The Walkers' at the bash, in Gainsborough .
I certainly remember this fine, mild mannered fellow come up to me, and shake my hand, to Introduce himself... a very likeable chap that I would also quickly come to know as 'Uncle Bill'.
Some time later I vividly remember joining in with a game of beach cricket with you and your grand kids at Cleethorpes, before we all later played crazy golf. I always (secretly) thought I could bat a bit, but maybe not eh? lol. What a great day that was. But most of the treasured memories I have of you, are of the quiet conversations we shared about Spurs, often in your living room. Although I am not quite old enough to have seen that great Tottenham side of the 60s, I have read plenty about them. Those legendary names... among them - Danny Blanchflower, Dave McKay, and of course Jimmy Greaves. Jimmy was the greatest goal scorer of them all, wasn't he... Cloughie said so!
As I sit and write this, I can't help but think that you are all up there somewhere right now, having an improvised game together. Jumpers for goalposts of course, and everyone wanting to be the referee, and maybe even Bill Nicholson and Terry Venables, pulling the strings from the sidelines. If you see 'El Tel', be sure to remind him from me, that Spurs were lucky that day back in 91 to 'scrape past' Forest at Wembley!!
Having got to 'meet the Walker's', over the past decade or so, I quickly realised they are all incredibly likeable, normal, warm people. I think they take after you and Aunt Cyn! Your family is a wonderful one!! I know you are very proud of them, and they of you. I also know, that they are all missing you, and very sad right now, which is obviously understandable, and really tough. From my own life experiences though, I also know that one day, that sadness will be replaced by a magical, myriad of marvellous memories to always be treasured.
On a more personal note though, I just wanted to say it was a genuine pleasure to meet and know you Bill, and to thank you for always making me feel so welcome and a part of such a wonderful family.
Rest in Peace Uncle Bill, and thank you for the memories.

Bill has been part of mine and my family’s life for as long as I can remember. So many childhood memories in and out of each others houses, both children’s and adult parties!! Going to the bookies to put on a bet and many Great Wall Chinese takeaways. The best friend my Mum and Dad could wish for. Sending our love to you all. XXX
